ROOT & GENEALOGY is an independent portal about family research methods. It does not hold civil registers or certify parentage.
We distinguish records, transcriptions, testimony and hypotheses. Guides offer practical approaches; archive entries link to the services responsible for holdings.
Resources were selected from official pages. Coverage and access can change: check repository guidance before a visit or order. Review dates appear in entries.
The six language versions share references and limitations. Illustrations are original and symbolic, never presented as historical photographs or records.
For corrections, retain page title, URL and an institutional reference supporting the change. The reusable source register is available in JSON and CSV.
Illustrations depict fictional scenes, people and places. They accompany the guides and are not historical records or evidence of kinship.
How to suggest a correction
Include the page URL, affected passage, proposed correction and an accessible source. For a tool, describe your browser and steps that trigger the issue. Avoid living people’s data and private records. We do not hold civil records: request copies from the repository.
